Product Liability

This relates to the liability of manufacturers and/or suppliers of consumer products which are unsafe and cause injury.

This area of law is very much dominated by the Consumer Protection Act of 1987.  The great advantage of this Act is that, in broad terms, it provides for what is called “strict liability” and avoids the necessity of the injured person having to prove fault in connection with the manufacture of the product.

If you can show that the product itself is defective then you have a right to claim compensation.

You’ve got nothing to lose and perhaps a lot to gain
