Fall In A Nightclub

Our client  and her husband had gone to a nightclub at the end of a night out to celebrate the Claimant’s birthday. Very shortly after arriving, the client and her husband walked onto the dance floor and the client slipped due to liquid that had been left there. 

Our client sustained a ligament injury to the knee which resolved with physiotherapy.  With that, the client made a good recovery.  Whilst we did not arrange for the physiotherapy to be carried out, the cost of it formed part of the claim.

Liability was denied but the matter was pursued and just prior to the issue of proceedings, the case was settled.  We had made it clear to the Defendant that we would be seeking to challenge their procedure for dealing with this situation, and whether that procedure was actually implemented on the night.  We obtained a four-figure compensation award for the client.
