Highway Accidents

The Highway Authority, usually your local County Council, has a duty to repair and maintain roads and pavements. You may be able to make a claim for compensation against them if you suffer an injury due to their failure to do so.

Water, electricity, gas, cable and telephone companies may also be held responsible if your accident is as a result of work carried out by them.

It is important to try and obtain photos of the faulty pavement or road as evidence that it was this that caused your injuries.

Even slips and trips on the pavement can lead to bad injuries; at Harris Fowler we have often seen clients with fractures or broken bones that have prevented them from attending work. They may also have had to pay for medication. If this is something you’ve been through, contact us today to see if you could make a much needed compensation claim.
